Great place to have lunch while enjoying the scenic view from the patio. Service was friendly and quick and the food was delicious. The Brotzeitplatte and the Germknödel were especially good.

Café Polite – A Hidden Gem You Have to Hike For If you’re looking for a peaceful mountain café that feels completely tucked away from the world, Café Polite is it. But fair warning: you can’t just drive there. There’s no road access for cars — you either hike or cycle your way up. The trail starts from Bad Hindelang and takes about an hour or so on foot, depending on your pace. It’s not too hard, but it’s definitely a proper hike — wear good hiking shoes. Along the way, you’ll pass through forest paths, open meadows, and even a small waterfall, which was a really nice surprise and a perfect little pause spot. When you finally reach the café, it feels like a reward. The views are stunning — rolling hills, grapevines, and the Alps in the distance. The café itself is cozy and rustic, with a laid-back, friendly vibe. We had coffee and homemade cake on the terrace, soaking in the sun and the sound of cowbells in the valley. It’s the kind of place where time slows down. Just be prepared: there are no shortcuts. You’ve got to earn the view and the cake. But if you enjoy hiking and don’t mind working a little for your coffee, Café Polite is totally worth it. Would I go again? Absolutely! But will wear good shoes and a rain jacket and the area is prone to a lot of rain.

Great food and a very cozy and natural environment, it feels like eating in the middle of a field, farm or even in the forest. Staff is very friendly and kind.

We visited this place twice during our 7-day trip to Bad Hindelang. The food and drinks are great, and is coupled aptly with the amazing view. They also have some very funny chickens roaming around, and the sound of the bells from cows grazing near-by is just blissful. Great place, and staff are very kind and friendly. You can sign up via the Luca app to maintain with corona regulations once you visit the cafe. Above all, thank you for the nice dining experience and I recommend!
